I think modern comics have lost a lot of what made them great. The writers think that a broken character makes for a better story. They've abandoned the ideals. And they keep writing for the Graphic Novel, leaving the comic issues disjointed and unresolved. There are very few comics today I would feel comfortable giving to a kid.
