My favorite comic book is Sandman. To be honest I've just been losing interest in the more recent DC and Marvel shenanigans. I liked anything Kevin Smith and Joss Whedon wrote, though! It's not just because I am a massive nerd for them; that helped me pick them up, but their writing style really worked in the medium. Still. I like Fables, Spider-Man (particular with wacky Villains), Green Arrow (so long as the writing's good), Teen Titans when they aren't making Starfire act skanky, etc.
